Rules of #TheUltra3DClub

Sun Jul 9, 2006, 11:29 PM
ABOUT #TheUltra3DClub

#TheUltra3DClub was originally founded in early July, 2006. The Chat room exists to welcome members into a free community with less rules and restrictions. Our community allows you to post your artwork in a place where everyone is considerate and optimistic of other people's hard work and effort. We try to make our Chat room available to you 24/7 so that DeviantART from all around the world and access at anytime of day. #TheUltra3DClub is all about our community and the people in it. We welcome UserALL artists.

ABOUT ~TheUltra3-D-Club
~TheUltra3-D-Club is the official homepage for our Chat room. On this page, which is updated daily, we display up-to-date news concerning the community. For the example, we have the Member of the Week feature, which is mentioned both on our page and in the Chat room. We also have frequent announcements and updates for our users. Remember that we are always working hard for you.

MEMBERSHIP/ADMINISTRATIVE LEVELS
Banned - User who have been placed under a "Banned" group do not have any access to the Chat room from the account he/she was banned with. Users are only banned if they go against anything stated on this page. Again, banned users have no access to the Chat room, and with that, all features are disabled for those users.
Users - This level is default. If you have never entered the Chat room before, you will be tagged as a "Guest" when you do. Guests are not logged, so you will not be remembered by the Chat room. Guests also have limited features, so you may want to consider being promoted when asked by a staff member.
Users - "Newbies" are temporary only. Users who have not been devWATCHed by ~TheUltra3-D-Club are left in this group until they are. Users have the same features as a Member does.
- A "Toadie" is the standard level. If you are not a part of staff, then this is as far as you can go. All members have unlimited features in general, but are limited to 20 object linkings, embeddings, and frames. At this point, you do not have any obligations; for more information, read BECOMING A STAFF MEMBER below.
Helpers - "pers" are just helpers. They have the power to promote, and have all unlimited features. To become a helper, read BECOMING A STAFF MEMBER below. Helpers are required to know the basic codes of the Chat room and how to use them. Helpers should be good with people because they are here to deal with guests and members. Since helpers cannot demote to Banned, or Kick users, all violations must be reported to an Operator or higher immediately. And on that note, Helpers should have a basic understanding of this page.
Operators - "Operators" also watch over everyone. They do everything except Administrate and can change the Topic in Chat. To become an Operator, read BECOMING A STAFF MEMBER below. Operators must know the basic codes of the Chat room and how to use them. Operators MUST have good service towards any user below their current level. They can take action against staff members under their current level if needed and, likewise, against violations. And on that note, Operators MUST understand this page. This is as far as any staff member can go.
Founders - This is a closed level. This user has full power.

BECOMING A MEMBER

We do not ask you of anything. Your minimum requirement is obvious: you must be a DeviantART user. You do not have to be a well known person, or a subscriber. EVERYONE is welcome. All you have to do is show up in #TheUltra3DClub and a Helper, Operator, or higher Administrative staff will automatically promote you to the Newbie level. This level is temporary until you are devWATCHed by ~TheUltra3-D-Club,
which is when we promote you to a Member. If you do not wish to be a member, simply mention that to the person who promoted you and we will reset you login settings. You are not required to watch us back. However, for the latest news directly from the official source, it is recommended that you do. With being a member, you should take note of the following:
- You will automatically receive NOTES from us. We will NOT spam you or send you NOTES more than at least twice a month. NOTES are only sent to remind members of events or high priority news. Also, NOTES are sent to 15 - 20 users at a time, so nothing is personalized unless it's urgent.
- You should show up at least once a month. Your support counts, especially in helping our community to grow.
- You CAN be selected as "Member of the Week". If you have a problem with this, please contact ~Sho-N immediately.
- You are not to share your art IF it is focused on sexual content of extreme graphic violence. Because we are a public community, we welcome users of ALL ages, and we do not want to be providers of under-age activity. If your art is tagged as Mature, then you may go ahead with limited postings.
- You are never allowed to spam. This includes using emoticons and common words to frequently, and posting the same art very often.
With all of these things in mind, please make sure that you set a good example for the users around you as well.

LANGUAGE POLICY

Although staff members of #TheUltra3DClub may speak various languages, we only encourage English. It is the main language here, and the majority of us speak it. Please stick to English; constant reference in other languages, good or bad, is considered spam, and can get you kicked, demoted, or even banned. These punishments also apply to the use of Hatred words in the Chat room. Please censor yourself if you have to.

MATURE (SEXUAL-VIOLENT ARTWORK) POLICY

DeviantART provides filters made to avoid adult artwork. However, we STILL enforce this rule regardless of what: No sexual orientated artwork or graphically violent artwork allowed at any time. There are multiple reasons for this:
- First of all, a lot of young people take full advantage of the filters provided and turn them off. DeviantART cannot prevent age restriction any better, so this is a problem, especially because all age groups are welcomed in #ThumbCentral, as well as the fact that some staff members are not even 18.
- There is also the fact that some artists prefer not to set a Mature Content filter on their work, thus showing detail in Thumbnails.
If this general rule is broken at any time, punishments are as follow:
- You will be warned by a staff member in-charge (of any possible rank). Do not take warnings personally; this does not mean that we don’t welcome you.
- If after a warn you continue to showcase your work, you will be demoted and/or even banned.

BECOMING A STAFF MEMBER

We have no problem adding you as a Helper, or Operator. We do not add any Presidents or Administrators; these are chosen only by the master Administrator in-charge. Becoming a Staff member is simple. You need to make sure of the following though:
- You should be logged in at least once everyday. With that, you should stick around, at least until someone the same level as you, or a level above you logs in to manage the Chat room.
- You should know how to properly use codes in the Chat room, and how to teach new users.
- You should be able to moderate for anything that goes against our rules and prove that it does by referencing to this entry.
If you know you would like to help out, please send a NOTE to ~ThumbCentral about it. The chance of you being promoted will be determined by the amount of time you spend in chat. Sometimes, you may be automatically promoted.

SPAMMING: EXTENSION

A lot of users often ask, "What exactly is spamming?" Well, hopefully, this will help:
- "Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail." - As stated by Dictionary.com.
- Unfortunately, spamming occurs way to often now. It happens everywhere, including in our Chat room.
- A good example is when someone enters the Chat room and leaves a link to his/her own Chat room, or external link, and then leaves. As a result of this action, that person is automatically banned. However, it IS alright to stop by and engage in discussion, and eventually ask members to visit your Chat room or external link. Remember: all of us have a right to decline your request.
- By posting Thumbnails to the same artwork more than a maximum of 5 times, you are spamming. This is only set in place if you do it in one day. By doing this, you will be kicked, or demoted. We usually do not ban users who do this UNLESS actions are continued.
- Emoticons slow down browsers and crowd the room. We do not like to disable features on user groups because of what other users do, so you do have unlimited emoticon usage if you are a member. With that being said, you are not allowed to spam using emoticons. In other words, do not just use emoticons; chat instead. Continuing to use emoticons will result in either being kicked or demoted, and possibly to a ban.
- As stated in the language policy, continuous use of any language other than English is a form of spamming. We may live in a multicultural world and community, but we can only communicate to certain extent, so please keep it in English.
As you should know, spam is not tolerated anywhere on DeviantART, so these rules apply to BOTH #ThumbCentral and ~ThumbCentral.

MEMBER OF THE WEEK: EXTENSION

Every week, a member is featured both in #TheUltra3DClub and on ~TheUltra3-D-Club as the member of the week. Each week, this member is chosen by a different staff member. We find that this is helpful to most users because it promotes their gallery, and reflects how they contribute to the community. This member is selected every Sunday, so make sure that you set a good impression for the person who will be selecting the next week's member.
Please note that if you have a problem with being a member of the week, please contact ~PureStrawberryShake or ~topfox immediately by NOTE or e-mail.

CONTESTS

You will find that we like to hold contests. These are announced on our ~TheUltra3-DClub page, and through NOTES to all members. Contests last for about a month to ensure that all users can participate. However, there are ground rules that will definitely apply to ALL of our contests. Please make sure you understand these:
- NO SEXUAL-RELATED OR GRAPHIC VIOLENCE ALLOWED. They will simply be disqualified and you could be banned for it. It's been said, so don't claim that we never specified it.
- If we allow you to use mature themes, you MUST censor them or make two versions: and uncensored version to submit to us and a censored version for public viewing.
- You can never enter an old piece of work. It must be created for the contest specified. If indeed we find out you submitted older artwork to a contest, it will be disqualified. We will not demote you for this, but you will be warned.
- DON'T BE A SORE LOSER! We assure you that we do not play favorites here and that all judging is done fairly. All judging is done by staff only, so don't even bother to ask.
- Like in DeviantART's policy, we never allow copyright violation. You can always enter fanart, but you can NEVER claim art that does not belong to you, even if you graphically edited it to your standards.
We always try to make these contests interesting and worth it, especially where prizes are concerned. Our advice: do YOUR best!

PRIVACY POLICY

As stated above, we do not require any personal information from you. However, please note that in some situations, like in a contest where we have to ship a prize to you, we WILL require your personal information. Please note that after shipments are made, we delete all information gathered. We do not spread your personal information at anytime.
Note that the Chat room is logged. We DO monitor discussions for reference, but all logs are cleared the next day. This helps us to address problems within the community and to better serve you, the user. We do not allow abuse in our community, and we WILL protect you from that.
